Chemical Peels are a very popular non-surgical treatment which revitalise the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation.
A peel works by removing dead skin cells from the surface of the face to reveal a smoother, brighter and more youthful looking complexion.

Our experienced team at The Banwell Clinic will carry out a detailed skin analysis prior to treatment and carefully tailor the products we use to your specific skin type and needs.
Our prescription peels use a range of highly effective ingredients, including Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Lactic Acid (alpha hydroxyacid), Salicylic Acid (beta hydroxyl acid), Pyruvic Acid (PA) and TCA (Trichloroacetic Acid). Together the chemicals combine to remove the top, dead layer of skin and speed cell turnover underneath. They have been proven in clinical trials to achieve maximum skin rejuvenation with minimal downtime.
Mr Banwell is an international expert on chemical peels and he has introduced many innovations including layering techniques, prescriptive approaches and he has devised a new classification based upon the physiological action of chemical peels. The Banwell Clinic also exclusively offers the latest Enzyme Reactivators which represent the very latest cutting-edge peel technology.
Skin peels can be used on the face, neck, décolletage and hands.
They are the perfect way to improve the overall tone and texture of the skin.
For optimum results we usually recommend a course of 3-6 peels. These are often repeated for maintenance purposes.

Before undergoing any treatment we will carry out a thorough analysis of your skin.
Mr Banwell and his team will then offer you a prescriptive peel, tailor-made to your individual needs and skin type.
We will talk you through the process and answer any questions you may have.
The peel application itself will only take 15 minutes. However, please allow 30 minutes for your consultation as a full history, consent and photographs will be taken.
We will cleanse your skin first of all and apply protection to the delicate eye area. Next we will apply the peel solution and finish up with a moisturising sun screen.
Following the treatment your skin may appear red and tight for the first 24 hours. You may then experience some mild peeling/flaking for the next 3-4 days and your skin may feel slightly itchy.
You are advised to moisturise well during this period and use high protection sun screen. Do not pick at your skin, but allow it to shed naturally.
You can recommence your normal skincare regime and wear make-up 24 hours after treatment.
After the treatment your skin should appear clearer and more radiant.
For optimum results we usually recommend a course of 3-6 peels, 2-4 weeks apart.
